衝向快樂的盡頭

悠畫廊(Yo Gallery)將於3/2至3/31推出吳衍震個展『衝向快樂的盡頭』。
『當我們的祖先猴子從樹上下來時, 從那一刻起,我們注定要不顧一切用我們的雙腿衝向無法想像的盡頭』藝術家吳衍震如此說到。關於本能,關於慾望,關於快樂,現代社會高度發展之
餘同時產出了似是而非、模擬兩可的物質與精神消費現象。當人們對於『快樂的追求』視為理所當然時,快樂的定義也從最原始的滿足需求而漸漸膨脹,快樂是否有時代性?快樂是否有盡頭?快樂的似幻似真是否真的滿足了身為人的想望以及慾望?不斷被重新定義的議題又能從藝術表現中獲得如何的階段性答案?『衝向快樂的盡頭』一展,其作品帶著高度對比的童趣與情趣,誠實地模糊化一般既定的"成熟",像是在一場俗世共舞的派對中,眾目睽睽地脫下了西裝與華麗,提出一個當代異色與藝色的對話。
肉片男孩
做為藝術家創作核心角色的肉片男孩,是對人類提出的戲謔。人類自認是相當進化的動物,但生吞活剝其他動物,干擾與濫用自然與資源。所謂的人類,其實像是漫畫般的存活,西裝筆挺之下已成食材的行動腐肉人,扮家家酒式地活在快樂裡。

 
人造天堂
藝術家的新作系列-人造天堂。在這裡,我們擁有的矯揉打造的繽紛花草和可口冰淇淋,甜膩中透露著絲絲危險和不安,但這裡是天堂,我們仍然玩得很開心。

 
魔鬼家族
魔鬼家族對應了每個人內心積聚的黑暗慾望,是一種另類的眾生相,對普羅大眾的觀察,荒謬而離奇,是可愛又殘酷都市成人童話。

"The moment our monkey ancestors descended from the trees, we were destined to use our feet running to the unimaginable end henceforth", said the artist Yen-Cheng Wu. "Sprint for the End of Happiness" is an art show portraying the inconvenient truth of desire for happiness, with poetic black humor and imagery nuance. While people run to what they want and what they desire, the want and the desire have transformed along the way as the civilized and materialistic world evolves. The artist's work plays a game of childlike innocence and pleasure, crudely and sensually blends the idea of being "grown-up." "Sprint for the End of Happiness" is a naked conversation held in the masquerade, take off the suit and glamour dress, thru art we get back to the body and the core of "true" wants and the desires.
